Overview:
The June 2025 issue of AIMS Eagle Talk Magazine serves as a year-end editorial celebrating the collective accomplishments of the AIMS K–12 community. Designed to commemorate the successful renewal of AIMS K–8’s charter by the Alameda County Board of Education, this issue weaves together institutional pride, student achievement, and family engagement through a rich blend of visual and written storytelling.
As the sole designer, I led the full creative direction—from editorial layout and photography to content curation and visual branding. The issue features a dynamic mix of high school graduation coverage, college acceptance highlights, K–8 promotion ceremonies, and enriching afterschool and ELOP programs. Visually and narratively, the magazine uplifts community voice by spotlighting AIMS Parents United, the ELD team, and Special Education services—framing them as integral to the district’s story of resilience and equity.
The design approach reflects both celebration and cohesion: clean grid-based layouts, consistent typographic styles, and color palettes aligned with AIMS branding. Full-bleed photography and modular content sections bring energy and rhythm to the reading experience, while balancing editorial hierarchy with visual warmth.
Beyond internal celebration, AIMS Eagle Talk Magazine serves as a strategic visual communication tool. Printed issues are distributed at community events, open houses, and staff recruitment fairs—promoting enrollment, informing prospective families, and offering a vivid, values-driven snapshot of AIMS’ school culture. Each new issue is also shared through a branded monthly email campaign sent via Mailchimp to our subscriber list, extending the magazine’s reach and reinforcing AIMS’ voice across digital channels.
