Design Career Fair Website

Role: Web Designer & Developer, Event Photographer
Tools: HTML, CSS, GitHub Pages, Atom, Canon DSLR
Year: 2019

As Web Design Lead for the UC Davis Design Careers Club, I created a multi-page website for the Design Career Fair—a campus-wide event that connects design students with creative professionals in UX, visual communication, and product design.

Design Vision
The site was crafted to reflect the energy and professionalism of the event—clean, accessible, and student-friendly. I prioritized usability, modular layouts, and a strong typographic system to guide users through information-rich pages.

Development
Built from scratch using HTML and CSS in Atom, the code was structured for readability, maintainability, and responsive performance. I deployed the site on GitHub Pages, ensuring smooth access for students, recruiters, and faculty alike.

Key Features

  • Homepage: Clear overview of the event's purpose, goals, and vibe

  • Companies & Sponsors: Logo grid and sponsor highlights with subtle hover effects

  • Speakers: Interactive timeline with clickable icons linking to each speaker’s portfolio and LinkedIn

  • Directions: Annotated Google Maps screenshots for two venues

    • Art Annex 107 – Company booths

    • Art Annex 112 – Panels and talks

  • Contact: Social media and email links for real-time updates

Event Photography
Alongside web design, I served as the event photographer, capturing candid and posed shots of speakers, student portfolios, and company reps. These photos were later used in promotional materials and club archives.
